Psoriasis Relief for Face & Body with L'BRI Products

The condition is not contagious, and it is fairly common, affecting 2 - 3% of Americans. Plaque psoriasis is a chronic (long-lasting) inflammatory skin condition that is caused partly by an overactive immune system. This causes the body to grow skin cells up to 10 times faster than normal. Instead of shedding, these skin cells pile up on top of each other and form red, raised patches of skin, called plaques.

Psoriasis most commonly appears on the scalp, knees, elbows, torso, and very infrequently on the face. Patches may begin as slightly thickened areas of dry skin that appear red or pink, skin lesions including red, scaly patches, Gradually, the patches can become thicker, itchier, or more painful. These symptoms can develop slowly or suddenly. If skin is scratched the symptoms can worsen more quickly. The symptoms of psoriasis vary greatly in terms of severity. Some people experience subtle itching and flaking while others experience extreme pain and burning.

L’BRI products have shown to be beneficial to those with psoriasis. Aloe, a natural anti-inflammatory, is the first ingredient in L’BRI skin care products, along with other soothing and healing ingredients. Many individuals have found this to provide relief and lessening of their psoriasis symptoms. It is important to note that even though many individuals have achieved results with consistent use of our L’BRI products – not everyone will. Under no circumstances do we recommend that an individual stop using any medications that they are currently taking for their psoriasis before checking with their physician.

Recommended facial skin care treatment for those with psoriasis: After determining your skin type, dry, oily, or combination, recommend the appropriate skin care trio. If facial psoriasis exists, which is rare, avoid any type of exfoliation at the start of the program. The Rejuvenating Facial Peel and Facial Masque can be added to your skin care regimen after the condition improves. For people with aging skin concerns such as loss of firmness, wrinkling, or uneven texture, L’BRI anti-aging serums such as Dermaplex, Intense Night Repair and Maxifirm are excellent additions to the skin care regimen.

Recommended body care treatment for those with psoriasis: We recommend the L’BRI Body Wash and Hand & Body Lotion for moderately dry skin that is not too red and scaly. We recommend Intense Moisture Crème for those with severe redness and dryness. Hand and Body Lotion or Intense Moisture Crème should be applied twice a day, morning and night. For faster healing for those with severe psoriasis, beneficial results have been achieved by applying the Aloe Vera Barbadensis Jelly followed by Intense Moisture Crème.

Lessen your Rosacea Symptoms with L'BRI Products

Do you know someone who has Rosacea? Over 16 million people in the US are affected by this often misunderstood skin condition.

L’BRI products have been known to help many who battle with this frustrating skin condition including L’BRI founders, Linda and Brian Kaminski.

Aloe, a natural anti-inflammatory, is the first ingredient in L’BRI skin care products, along with other soothing and healing ingredients. Many individuals have found relief and a lessening of their rosacea symptoms through consistent use of L’BRI skin care products.

We recommend using only the cleanser and moisturizer for the first week. A soft pad or washcloth can also be used for cleansing, but rough washcloths, loofahs, brushes or sponges must be avoided.

L’BRI Fresheners oxygenate and stimulate the skin, which can be too stimulating initially for those with rosacea. Using the cleanser and moisturizer twice a day for the first week helps to acclimate the skin to L’BRI products which are corrective and work from the inside out at the cellular level. In addition, we recommend Smooth n’ Firm Eye Gel or Intense Eye Repair Cream along with Rejuvenating Facial Peel.

L'BRI Winter Lip Tips - Vitamin E Stick & SPF

Winter Lip Tips

Like skin, lips are affected by the freezing temperatures, strong winds and drier air that winter brings. Because they have thinner protective layers and fewer oil glands than other areas of skin, lips are particularly susceptible to damage and moisture loss. Wetting (and re-wetting) lips with a quick swipe of the tongue is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. Every time freshly applied salvia evaporates, lips become drier. Saliva also contains natural acids that can further irritate lip skin.

Tips to Keep Lips Luscious
Apply Lip Balm Lip balm creates a protective barrier that helps lock in moisture. Slather it on liberally throughout the day, preferably before lips have become chapped. Make it a habit to apply a nice, thick layer every night before going to bed. L'BRI Vitamin E stick + SPF is a perfect choice!

Avoid Irritants
Don’t be fooled by the soothing, tingling sensation created by products containing peppermint, menthol and camphor. These ingredients are actually known to make dry, chapped lips worse. Look for natural lip balms made from beeswax, plant oils (jojoba, aloe vera, etc.) and herbs such as chamomile or calendula.

Exfoliate
Yes, exfoliate! Just like skin on the rest of your face, lip skin accumulates dead cells. Removing them clears the way for topicals you apply to be absorbed.

Stay Hydrated
On hot summer days, it’s easy to recognize when your body needs hydration—but most people don’t realize they’re not drinking enough water in the winter. Dehydration contributes to dry, chapped lips, so be sure to guzzle plenty of H20.

Tip to Cut Back On Pedicures

Save money on your beauty routine by taking care of your feet on a daily basis.

Simply scrub your feet with a pumice stone each morning in the shower.
Once you step out and dry off,
apply L'BRI's Daily Moisturizing Hand & Body Lotion or Body Butter to your feet.
This will increase the amount of time you can go without a pedicure
and will keep your toes healthy and fungus-free.

How Brows Affect Your Eyes

Deep-Set Eyes: Use a pencil two shades lighter than your hair. Line top and bottom lash line with a pencil in a matching shade. Enlarge the space between the eyes and brows-raise the brows slightly by penciling in a little above the bone.

Round Eyes: Fill in brows with a shade that matches your hair. Line top lash line with a pencil in a darker, smokier shade.

Small Eyes: The softer the brow, the bigger eyes will appear. Pair a soft shade to brows and lash lines. Smudge a deeper shadow along top lash line and finish with mascara in Black Brown.

Close set eyes: widen the space between the brows a little by plucking, and extend the pencil line at the ends.

Wide set eyes: pencil eyebrows a little closer to the nose, and do not extend them out at the ends.

Bulging eyes: tweeze out any hairs that grow down too far over your eyes and raise the brows slightly from below.

How To Apply Foundation : Fingertips VS Sponge VS Brush

How To Apply Foundation:
Fingertips VS Sponge VS Brush

So what is the best way to apply foundation?

Your fingertips:
They naturally produce oil so applying foundation with your fingertips can lead to breakouts because the oil from your hands can be damaging to your pores when mixed with foundation. Applying with your fingertips also spreads bacteria from your hands all over your skin, you use more foundation than needed when applying with your fingertips and can give you an uneven finish, which has you using more foundation.

If applying foundation with your fingertips works best for you, I strongly recommend washing your hands and always get in the habit of sanitizing your hands before you apply foundation.

The Sponge:
Applying foundation with a sponge will give you great coverage and appear like it is your skin. Sponges are cheap and perfect for blending the edge of your face and hard to reach places like the nose. But...they soak up most of your foundation, so you will be using more foundation than needed which leads you to replacing your foundation more often. Your sponges become full of bacteria and the next time you use it you are spreading bacteria to your face which leads to breakouts. You can also buy the disposable sponges and throw away after one use.

The Brush:
A foundation brush is a staple beauty tool. Applying foundation with a brush is lightweight on your skin and gives you a natural finish. It uses the right amount of foundation that you need, not like wasting it with a sponge. A good quality brush can last you years but you do need to keep your brushes bristles clean. You can buy brush cleaners or you can use shampoo and conditioner as well.

L'BRI tip on making it easier... How to Pluck Eyebrows

Have you ever had redness or pain after eyebrow plucking or waxing?

We share a L'BRI tip on making it easier... How to Pluck Eyebrows with Less Pain

1. Use a sharp pair of tweezers and a magnifying mirror

2. Prep your skin by taking a shower or laying a hot towel across your brows. This opens up your pores and makes hair pliable – a perfect time to pluck!

3. Sit down in front of the magnifying mirror, and, if possible, elevate it to forehead-level.

4. Pull your skin taut in the direction of the hair growth. For example, if you're doing your right eyebrow, pull the skin around the brow right.

5. Pluck in the direction of the hair growth.

6. Apply a bit of L’BRI Aloe Vera Barbadensis Jelly or any L’BRI Moisturizer as they all contain aloe that helps ease the redness and pain.

7. Enjoy your new look! Major plucking projects hurt but smaller maintenance plucks really don't.

L'BRI Moisturizer Body Lotion and Body Butter

Staying Sweet Smelling!

Oily skin binds and holds more scent than dry skin.

Therefore, those with dry skin should apply a complementary lotion or cream like L’BRI Cucumber Body Butter or Daily Moisturizing Hand & Body Lotion to moisturize your skin prior to using a scent.

And, if you’re getting out of the shower or bath, apply immediately so that pores can absorb the scent.
